豊前山国神楽
(Buzen Yamakuni Kagura)

Buzen Yamakuni Kagura is a village kagura of Yamakuni-cho, Nakatsu City, and is one of the 44 kagura groups of Buzen Kagura. 『Citation Meta:Okada Laboratory, Nishinippon Institute University of Technology』
Currently, since 1990, we have taken over Ono Kagura, which has a history of 160 years,
and dedicate Kagura to the local Ujigame-sama (shrine deities) at 11 locations in the town.
Ujigami-sama are Shinto(Japanese religion) deities in Japan that are worshipped jointly
by people living in the same community.
There are several kagura performances, and they are introduced on video.

As for the origin of Kagura,
According to the Kojiki(japanese classics), when the great deity of Amaterasu,
hid in Big Rock(Iwato) due to the misdeeds of his younger brother Susanoo,
the gods consulted with each other in an attempt to bring her out, and decided to perform a dance.Amanouzume performed a dance. The Legend of Amanoiwato
The dance performed there by Amenouzume is said to be the origin of kagura.

Buzen Kagura is designated by the national government as an important intangible folk cultural property.
Buzen area is located in what is now eastern Fukuoka Prefecture and northwestern Oita Prefecture.
Until the Heian period (794-1185), the Japanese name for this area was "Toyokuni no Michinokuchi."
MIYAKO KIKAKU(美夜古) and IHOUSAISAI(衣縫歳彩) will also produce costumes for kagura,
